Strawberry Cake

Equipment

  • 13" x 9" Cake pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box White cake mix
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Cold water
  • 1/2 cup Strawberries Can use fresh or frozen (defrosted)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat over to 350°. Grease and flour cake pan.
  • Mix all ingredients until well blended. Pour into cake pan.
  • Bake about 35 minutes until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool before frosting.

Strawberry Frosting

  • Blend together 1/4 cup buter, 1/2 cup strawberries and 2 cups powdered sugar. Blend well and frost on cooled cake.

Notes

My Great grandmother Hortense Hilton (nickname Hortie) loved this cake. She came to live with us for a while and my mother would make this for her along with Lemon Custard Ice Cream. Hortense was my mom's mother's mother.
